MCHFH starts the year with a new home dedication!
|
 |
|
New homeowners, Angela and her daughter, Samantha.
|
On Thursday, January 6th, the Jones family became the first family of 2011 to dedicate their new MCHFH Habitat home! The event was attended by friends, relatives, volunteers and Habitat supporters.
 |
| Brody explores his new home. |
The Jones home was the first of our 25th Anniversary homes to be completed and its dedication was a great way to start a new year! We are looking forward to dedicating the neighboring Anniversary home for the Puhalski family soon!
Volunteers are still needed on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays to complete the second Anniversary home located right next door. For more information or to sign up, call Lori Roll, volunteer coordinator at 231-727-6020.

 |
| Mhari Blacklock has been taking care of MCHFH volunteers as a site host for two years. She's also great with a hammer! |
Do you enjoy meeting new people? Do you like making others feel comfortable and helping them to have a good time? Do you want to help build a house for a needy family, but can't or don't want to swing a hammer? If you prefer people over power tools, then we have the perfect opportunity for you!
Become a volunteer construction site host for Habitat!
Site hosts are at the construction sites on volunteer work days, but they don't have to touch a tool... unless they want to. Site hosts help build houses by helping the people who are building the houses. They meet and greet the scheduled volunteers, presenting a brief orientation and helping them settle into tasks assigned and overseen by the on-site Building Coordinator. They assure that volunteers have everything they need, such as tools, drinking water, lunch and, most importantly, a great experience!
If this sounds like a task you would enjoy, please call 231-727-6020 for more information.

Lori says,
"Be a site host! It's easy! It's fun! Call me at 727-6020 and I'll show you how it's done!"

Thank you Muskegon Community College
International Club
|
|
On Saturday November 13th, a group of students from the Muskegon Coummunity College International Club spent the day on the Anniversary Build sites. They worked hard to clean up the lots and break up the sidewalk in preparation for concrete workers who will be pouring the driveways and walks soon. Who knew that hard work could be so much fun!
Construction on the two homes on Albert Street in Muskegon will be wrapping up soon. If you or your group would like to get involved with these or future homes, please call Lori at 231-727-6020.
Thanks to MCC's International Club and ALL of our great volunteers.

Share the Gift of Home this Christmas
|
 |
| The Walsh Family will celebrate the holidays in their new Habitat home this year! |
This year when you are looking for the perfect holiday event and gifts, share the Gift of Home.
By sharing the gift of your home with your friends and family, you can make the gift of a home a reality for another local family.
A Habitat Home for the Holidays Gathering is a great way to celebrate the simple pleasures of the season with family, friends, club members, church groups, classes, scout troops, etc. Instead of preparing an elaborate dinner and stressing over a gift to exchange, you and your guests can relax and enjoy time with one another. Give the money you saved by not having a gift exchange to Habitat where it will be used to build a home for a local low-income family. You can enjoy the knowledge that next year a family will enjoy the holidays in the Gift of Home which you helped provide.
Following are resources and ideas that you can use for your Home for the Holidays Gathering. If you have a Home for the Holidays for Habitat gathering, please share your party photos and ideas by sending them to
